For the past 15 years, I’ve recruited and built talent teams in the fast-moving world of tech startups. Along the way, one thing became impossible to ignore: most search firms were led by men, and most of the leaders I was hired to recruit for were men too.

Then the pandemic hit, forcing millions of women out of the workforce. Around that same time, I became a mom to a little girl. Those two forces collided for me in a profound way. Professionally, I was watching women disappear from pipelines, and personally, I was raising a daughter in a world where leadership still looks overwhelmingly male. It was a wake-up call.

I built Her Scout to recruit talent for female founders.
