Founded in 2022 by Güliz Urgunlu and designer–interior architect Efe Urgunlu, Atelier Terra Madre is a design brand that unites craftsmanship with contemporary artistry. The brand views the dining table not merely as a place for food, but as a stage where emotion, story, and aesthetics come together. Each creation draws inspiration from nature and mythology, combining bronze, marble, ceramic, and glass to reinterpret cultural heritage through a modern lens. Atelier Terra Madre’s refined collections are crafted in limited editions. In addition, the brand produces bespoke creations for luxury hotels and fine-dining restaurants, each designed to reflect the unique character, atmosphere, and narrative of its space.
The brand’s philosophy comes to life in the expression “Home Jewellery” — each design is more than a decorative object; it is a jewel that brings meaning and identity to the spaces we live and gather in.
In 2025, Atelier Terra Madre received the iF Design Award for its Adaptiva Ceramic Tiles project, marking international recognition of the brand’s vision at the intersection of craftsmanship and innovative design.
After a long career in advertising and casting direction, Güliz Urgunlu co-founded Atelier Terra Madre in 2022 with designer and interior architect Efe Urgunlu. The brand unites craftsmanship, art, and storytelling, creating refined tableware and decorative objects inspired by nature and mythology. Through the harmonious use of bronze, marble, ceramic, and glass, Atelier Terra Madre reinterprets cultural heritage with a contemporary sensibility.
An interior architect and designer, Efe Urgunlu has over 20 years of experience, specializing in architectural projects within the F&B sector.
Through his studio No3 Architecture, he has developed contemporary design approaches that create distinctive atmospheres for restaurants and hotels.
In 2022, together with Güliz Urgunlu, he co-founded Atelier Terra Madre, a creative platform that brings together bronze, marble, wood, and ceramic through a sculptural approach.
His design philosophy is shaped by the dialogue between form, texture, and material, establishing a refined balance between art, craft, and architecture in every project.
