The Biskery is an online bakery specialising in personalised and branded biscuits. We make gifting impressive, spread kindness, and make the world a bit sweeter, one biscuit at a time. We pride ourselves in using the best ingredients and eco-friendly packaging. Our personalised jam sandwich biscuits are unique, fun and nostalgic. Up until this day, every biscuit is made by hand by our in-house team of working mothers. Friends Lisa and Saskia started The Biskery as a little project in 2016, whilst caring for their young children full time. They initially set out to sell treats from their home countries (Germany & The Netherlands) at local farmers markets. Their digital marketing background quickly opened new doors and opportunities for them, and allowed them to grow and shape the business into what it is today: A six figure business creating bespoke biscuits for the likes of Meta,The BBC, and Fendi, as well as consumers of all backgrounds and ages!
Originally from Germany, Lisa Shepherd moved to Leeds in 2013 for a job in digital marketing.
She has two wonderful children who are not only her pride and joy but also her greatest teachers.
Together with her friend Saskia Roskam, she founded The Biskery, an online business that specialises in personalised and branded biscuits. The real product however is kindness. Not only do they help spread kindness in biscuit form, they capitalise on kindness in all aspects of the business – from the way they interact with customers and staff to the impact they have on our planet. Their vision is to introduce more female qualities to the business world and make 10 million people feel appreciated.
Saskia Roskam grew up in The Netherlands and studied and worked abroad in Europe and Africa before moving to Leeds in 2012. She has a degree in journalism and loved storytelling. Together with Lisa, she fell into entrepreneurship and is on this journey to learn and create something she enjoys and is proud of.
